Last week’s dinner

Cabbage rolls

Well! Back at it again.

Pioneer week was lots of fun but I have found myself jonesing to blog. The laundry soap is terrific and so is the counter cleaner. The counter cleaner is particularly nice as I use this stuff by the bucketful and have a bit of an addiction to Mrs. Meyers which is stupidly expensive.

Tonight it is stinking hot again so the slowcooker is being pulled out. To be honest as well, I’m a little blue and need something comforting.

We had to have our beloved cat Trudi put down last week and this week I head back to work and leave my little girl for the longest period of time I have since she was born. I have a great job and work with terrific people but I will still be missing a lot.

2 medium onions, quartered
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 tablespoon paprika
1 garlic clove, peeled and halved
5 chicken legs
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons unsalted butter
1/2 cup chicken stock or low-sodium chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon dried dill

Cook from frozen in the slowcooker for 6.5 hours.

Add just before serving
1/4 cup sour cream
Fresh dill, chopped, for garnish
