inSince you have that song running through your head anyway…
or if you grew-up when I did you have this…
The only cure that I know is a five minute cake that is made in one pan and has the my primary, mood elevator in it-Chocolate.
My mom used to make this and we’d have it at lunch time with grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. I wonder what kind of things my daughter will remember when she’s older? We’re a different house than the one that I grew-up in but I hope that we’re slowly starting our own traditions.
Here’s one I’ll keep going though.
In the oven heat until melted (330 degrees) in a square cake pan.
1/3cup oil and 2 oz chocolate.
Stir the chocolate
and add all at once: 1egg, 3/4 cup water, 1/4 cup flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 3/4 cup sugar.
Top with: 1 cup chocolate (chopped) and 1/3 cup nuts
Bake until your cake is firm and a knife comes out clean when inserted into it (about 15 minutes).
Great with a healthy topping of ice cream.
Happy and safe trick-or-treating!
