Before we get to the goodies I just want to remind you about the amazing “Gracious May” giveaway that is on RIGHT now. All the details can be found on my sidebar.
We had family over the other day and one of our guests has a lot of allergies.
Very not fun and it usually means that when she’s at someone’s house she usually isn’t able to eat anything that is offered.
Well, couldn’t let that happen here so here’s an aamazing bread that you’ll enjoy with or without allergies.
The recipe that I’m going to offer is totally simple (I’m using my bread maker to be totally lazy), is filling, really healthy AND I’ve never found anyone that doesn’t like it.
Don’t let the name fool you this is a sort of bread that makes you want to sit down with a pot of tea and a big jar of honey and perhaps a great book.
Gluten Free Crusty Bread.
In the bottom of my breadmaker pan I’ve got: 3 eggs, 1/4 cup oil, 1 1/2 cups of water and 1/4 cup of honey.
On top of this add: 2 cups rice flour, 1/4 cup cornstarch, 1 T. xantham, 1/3 cup potato starch, 1/4 cup flax seeds, pinch salt and 2 T. yeast.
Turn on machine to dark crust and regular loaf.
Three hours later…
This is what you’ve got.
If you want to make this without the bread maker simple proof your yeast in the wet ingredients and add the dry. Let rise under double. Punch down. Let rise again (in a loaf pan) and bake until crusty (about 40 minutes in a moderate oven).
